Last glimpse of Paradise

Where should we go? Time was running short, only 5 days left. In our guide book were named two places in two rows of text that sounded promising, one to the south and one to the north of Cancun. Should we go south or north? We settled for the one north of Cancun as it was further afield and harder to get to. It was a small island called Isla Holbox, 3 hours by bus plus 20 minutes on a ferry. As we hit shore and saw the beaches a big grin was already on our faces, we knew that we had hit jack-pot! A small village with the nicest beaches we had seen in a long while, hardly any tourists and turquoise blue ocean; just what we had been looking for.

This was the perfect place to spend a few days before returning to Cancun. The weather has been perfect: blue and sunny skies almost nonstop, so we have cruised around in a golf cart, lazed on the beach, eaten some good food and had some cold beers most of the time. As I have said before; the life of the traveller can sometimes be soooo hard...
